CBRM’s
latest manual update, a part of your educational training materials, is now
available.
Manual
is updated with new references 2-4 times a year.
(From the Introduction) “Since the Center for Biomedical Research in Music, in cooperation with
the Robert F. Unkefer Academy of Neurologic Music
Therapy, began providing advanced level trainings in Neurologic Music Therapy,
music therapists and others around the world have increased their understanding
of specifically how music impacts the brain.
This increased understanding has lead to many neurologic music
therapists being able to gain increased access to third party reimbursement. This manual is intended to provide practical information
to the NMT practitioner to assist in guiding reimbursement efforts. The information can be used directly by the
practitioner and/or utilized by management personnel and facility
administrators to assist in understanding the value and applicability of the
NMT interventions in current healthcare practice.”
The
Medical Coding and Records Manual is
a significant addition to the CBRM educational materials. It provides individual documentation forms
for each NMT intervention that specify the medical codes that may be used for
billing purposes. Each form provides the
specific CPT® Code/s, NMT Intervention, definition and research references as
well as space to place patient-specific treatment information. Additionally, the manual contains NMT and Academy
information fact sheets and a complete research reference section that may be
used in conjunction with the forms to educate third-party payers.
