Stadium Advisory Committee

Updated March 30, 2012

The Stadium Advisory Committee has been convened to look in-depth at the issues involved with building an on-campus stadium and to make a recommendation to CSU President Tony Frank.

Key issues that will be examined include:

  • The process that will be used to take input from and communicate to the public and various stakeholder groups;
  • Site selection;
  • Fundraising and naming opportunities;
  • Hiring appropriate professionals and contractors necessary to analyze, plan, design and build the new stadium.

Recommendations must fall within the following parameters outlined by President Frank:

  • CSU won’t consider putting the stadium on existing open green space, including the intramural fields.
  • CSU won’t consider putting the stadium in front of significant existing view sheds so as to protect views of the mountains.
  • All recommendations from the Advisory Committee must take into serious account any impact on neighbors in areas adjacent or near a new stadium.
  • State appropriation, tuition, fees or taxes will not be considered as funding sources for a stadium project.

Center for Public Deliberation Leading Public Input Process

The Center for Public Deliberation, an institute dedicated to facilitating public dialogue around civic issues, is coordinating a comprehensive process for gathering public input, including gathering feedback through public forums, online outreach, independent research and input gathered from emails, letters and phone calls. Feedback collected will becompiled into a report to the Stadium Advisory Committee and posted on www.cpd.colostate.edu.
