How To Post A Message

Since this is a campus service, POSTS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED FROM E-MAIL ADDRESSES ENDING WITH colostate.edu.

When you send mail to this service you are not sending mail to a person but to an automated service. Whatever you send in this email under a valid category from a colostate.edu address will be posted. This includes special instructions for posting the message(which no one will read) as well as any automatic signature your mail program includes on the email message.

To post a message, send mail to postit@ColoState.edu

USE A SUBJECT (in your mail header) containing one of the categories above. (if you do not use one of these categories, your announcement will not be posted)

Please send a separate mail message if you wish to post to two or more categories.

Compose the body of the message to contain the announcement, ensuring to provide a phone number or e-mail address to enable interested parties to contact you. That's it!

The message will be "posted" for seven days under the category selected and will be removed automatically at the end of that time. To renew the message for additional seven day periods, simply resend the message.

When your message is posted, you will be notified via electronic mail and your message will be assigned a number. If you wish to remove your message before the end of the seven day period then send a mail message to postit@colostate.edu with a subject of "delete nnnn" where nnnn is the number of your message you wish to delete. You must send deletion requests from the email address that you submitted the message from. All messages that are submitted or deleted are added/subtracted from the postit board at the top of each hour between 6 am and 6 pm.

Send comments about the PostIt Board to Ric Miller (ric@colostate.edu).
