2012 Cinch Jeans Rocky Mountain Showdown

Ram fans have plenty of opportunities to get into the spirit of the state’s biggest rivalry in 2012!

Events kick into high gear on Thurday, August 30, with the Grill the Buffs student pep rally on campus, followed by Ram Rallies in Denver Friday afternoon and evening.

Game day is September 1 and events begin with the pregame Ram Rally at the stadium at 11:30 a.m., followed by the 2 p.m kickoff of the 2012 Cinch Jeans Rocky Mountain Showdown football game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Get ready to battle the Buffs at this free event. CAM the Ram, the CSU marching band, the Spirit Squad, coaches and players will lead the Rally!

Friday, August 31

Get Your Green On!
Show your support for CSU at work, on campus, and around the town - wherever you are!. College Colors Day is a national celebration of the traditions and spirit that make the college experience great.

Ram Rally on the 16th Street Mall
11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Skyline Park (16th at Arapahoe) Downtown Denver

The Ram Rally on the 16th Street Mall in Denver includes a CSU Showcase highlighting initiatives and giveaways from different divisions around the University, as well as other CSU partners. At noon, there will be a pep rally featuring the voice of the Rams, Brian Roth, as the emcee, the CSU Pep Band and cheerleaders and CAM the Ram. Event attendees will have a chance to win a Rams showdown package, which includes two tickets to the game, a parking pass and two tickets to the CSU Alumni Association’s Official Pregame Ram Rally on Saturday. The event is free and open to the public.

Join CAM the Ram, CSU cheerleaders and hundreds of fans for a pep rally full of appetizers, drink specials, competitions and giveaways at Katie Mullens in Denver. Highlights for this year's event include a buffalo piñata and the Biggest Fan competition to be judged by Miss Colorado Collegiate 2012, a CSU alumna. The free event is for our adult fans. Stop by the Alumni Association Rally for FREE pregame activities for the whole family, featuring CAM the Ram, a performance by the CSU Marching Band and Spirit Squad, live music and games. The event is open to the public. While rally events are free, attendees have the option of purchasing tickets that include a gift, drink ticket and access to the food tent. A food ticket costs $25 for Alumni Association members and $30 for non-members. [registration]

Ram Volleyball vs. Oklahoma
1 p.m. at Moby Arena

Spend Sunday afternoon with the Rams at Moby when they take on Oklahoma at 1 p.m. The team will need your support as they return home from three road matches to to play their third NCAA tournament team in four days. And, Coach Tom Hilbert graduated from Oklahoma and began his coaching career with the Sooners.

Getting to the Stadium

Plan to arrive early and build in extra time to get to the venue from your parked vehicle.

  • Directions from Colorado State University, exits from I-25 southbound:
    • 20th/23rd Ave. - Follow slip ramp to three-way stop at 20th and Mile High Stadium Circle
    • 6th Ave. - West on 6th Ave. to Federal Blvd., north on Federal to 20th Ave.
    • Colfax Ave. - West on Colfax to Federal Blvd, north on Federal to 20th Ave.
  • The highest volume of traffic to the stadium is via Colfax Avenue & I-25 - recommended alternate routes are 8th Ave. to Zuni and 6th Ave. to Federal Blvd.
  • Carpools are strongly recommended
  • RTD offers bus service and light rail to the game - pickup locations on www.rtd-denver.com.

Permit Parking

  • Follow traffic routes identified on your permit
  • Your permit must be visible when approaching the stadium to assist traffic officers and parking attendants in directing you to the correct parking lot
  • Fans who wish to tailgate together must arrive together - no blocking or saving of parking spaces will be allowed
  • Each vehicle may occupy only ONE (1) parking space

Cash Parking

  • Parking at the stadium is extremely limited and expected to sell out by 10 a.m.
  • Fans who wish to tailgate together must arrive together - no blocking or saving of parking spaces will be allowed

  • Alternative parking may be found at the Pepsi Center and the Auraria Campus
  • Do not go to the stadium for cash parking after 12:30 p.m. - go directly to the Pepsi Center or other overflow parking lots

Ticket Sales and Will Call

Only the South Box Office Ticket Windows will be open - no other ticket box offices will be used for this game.

  • Windows 1-4: Ticket Sales
  • Windows 5-8: Will Call
  • Windows 9-10: CSU (problems, students, season tickets)
  • Windows 11-12: CU (problems, students, season tickets)

Tailgating & Parking Lot Regulations / Policies

  • Occupy only ONE (1) parking space per vehicle
  • Tailgate directly behind your vehicle or in and adjacent landscaped area ONLY
  • Maintain a 14’ drive aisle between rows of vehicle at all times
  • Barbeque grills are allowed, open-flame fires are not allowed
  • Dispose of charcoal in designated coal barrels ONLY
  • All tailgate parties must conclude 30 minutes prior to kickoff

Not Allowed in the Parking Lots

  • Box trucks
  • Glass bottles
  • Kegs
  • Sales or distribution of products, food or beverages
  • Open-flame fires
  • Blocking of pedestrian aisleways, sidewalks or disabled access aisles
  • Blocking or saving of parking spaces - fans who wish to tailgate together must arrive together
  • Unauthorized vehicle operated within the stadium parking lots or walkways; including, but nuot limited to go-karts, mini-bikes, or go-peds.
  • Unauthorized use of stadium property
