Research Associate I, Western Colorado Research Center Agricultural Experiment Station
This 12-month administrative professional position is located at the Western Colorado Research Center (WCRC) on the Orchard Mesa site near Grand Junction, Colorado.
Assists faculty members with field and laboratory aspects of research projects including all phases of field, greenhouse, winery, and laboratory work including data collection and analysis. Coordinate and support activities of students conducting research in viticulture and enology at center. Maintain inventory and order supplies and equipment needed in the field and laboratory. Participate in grower meetings and assist faculty members to maintain liaison with all segments of the grape and wine industry. Some evening and weekend work may be required. This position reports to and is evaluated by the Viticulture Program leader.
A B.S. is required with an emphasis in Viticulture/Enology, Horticulture or a related field
Demonstrated knowledge of field and laboratory safety techniques

Evidence of interacting professionally with faculty, students, and stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and to work independently
Evidence of superior customer service and organizational skills

Supervisory and or training experience
Desired Qualifications .
Master's degree in Viticulture/Enology, Horticulture or related field
Experience in viticulture, winemaking, and/or juice and wine analysis
Availability and Compensation. The position is available immediately. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the successful candidate's background and experience.

WCRC – OM conducts applied research and outreach programs in tree fruit cropping systems, viticulture and enology. The site has three full-time faculty, two research associates and one administrative support staff. Colorado State Extension personnel also periodically conduct applied research in irrigation management, and integrated pest management.
