Research interests include gene and genome organization in plants, genomics and applications in wheat and barley breeding, and cloning of genes for disease and insect resistance in wheat. Current collaborative projects on genetic mapping of Russian wheat aphid (RWA) resistance genes in wheat; physical mapping of genomic regions containing RWA resistance genes; EST sequencing of cDNA clones from a RWA-resistant wheat; structure and function of the expressed portion of the wheat genome; gene organization in barley; and QTL mapping of Fusarium head blight resistance genes in barley.
