The bean project is involved in using molecular markers to tag single genes for resistance to Fusarium wilt and the shiny gene for seed coat lustre in common bean. The project is developing mapping populations for QTL analysis, for resistance to Fusarium wilt in populations with quantitative inheritance. Dr. Brick is interested in collaborating on a transformation system in beans.
