This course examines the history of women in North America from early colonial contact through the American Revolution and into the Early Republic. It looks at the experiences of women from Africa, Europe, and the Americas, and their role in the creation of early American societies. It will also incorporate an exploration of some of the new literature on sexuality and the body in early America.
