At a Party:
Drugs are often used to facilitate sexual assault
Examples include: Rohypnol (Roofies), Gamma-Hydroxybuterate
(GHB), Ketamine (Special K or Vitamin K), and MDMA (Ecstasy).
These drugs (often called "Date Rape Drugs") are
odorless, colorless, tasteless and easily obtained. They are undetectable
when mixed with drinks and are often used recreationally at bars,
clubs, parties and other gatherings.

* Loss of control, consciousness or semi-consciousness
* Loss of inhibition
* Confusion, amnesia, blackouts
* Dizziness, vomiting
* Slow reaction time
* A high or euphoric feeling followed by a low
These drugs are extremely dangerous when mixed with alcohol
and may be fatal
Tips to Reduce the Chance of Unknowingly Consuming a "Date
Rape" Drug

* Don't leave it while dancing or going elsewhere
* At a bar, club, or party, accept drinks only from the bartender
or server
* Avoid group drinks, punch bowls, or drinks being passed around
* Open your own containers
* Don't let someone you hardly know take you home from a party
* Don't offer rides to such people either
Stay Alert
If you or your friends experience any of the symptoms above or
any unexplained symptoms, tell someone immediately and try to
retain a sample of the beverage for laboratory testing. It is
against the law to sell, administer, or otherwise provide these
drugs to another person. For more information, contact the Center
for Drug and Alcohol Education at 491-1702.
