Tips for Being Safe on Campus:

Know Your Surroundings

While walking around campus, it is important to learn your surroundings. Pay attention to where the two dozen emergency phones are located. While you won't use them every day, it is crucial that you can find one in an emergency.

Take Responsibility for Creating a Safe Campus
If you are walking around at night and notice that a light is not working, contact CSU Facilities Dispatch at 491-0077 and let them know. Let's all take responsibility to make campus as safe as possible.

Utilize SAFE WALK
If you are walking to another building in the evening for class, to visit a friend, or attend an event, walk with others or use SAFE WALK, a service provided by CSU Police. Community Safety Officers will happily walk with you to any location on campus during evening hours. Call SAFE WALK at 491-1155 for assistance or more information.

Walk With a Purpose
When walking on campus or around town, stay alert and move with confidence. Always know where you are going and act like it!

Carry an Emergency Contact Card
Emergency Contact Cards are wallet-sized cards that have phone numbers and instructions about what to do in various emergency situations. They are provided by the Office of Women's Programs and Studies and the Office of Residence Life. To obtain a card, stop by the Office of Women's Programs and Studies in 112 Student Services Bldg.
