TAP Program Requirements The Career and Technical Educators Authorization Program (TAP) provides
competency based teacher preparation for those individuals new to vocational
teaching at the secondary and post secondary levels, primarily in the
trade and industry fields. Completion of TAP course work is one of the
requirements necessary to receive a vocational (CTE) credential and
authorization to teach in Colorado. Participants will also need to pass
required exams. TAP is designed to be completed in the three years that
coincide with the provisional credential. It may be started in the summer,
fall, or spring semester. The new teacher will work with both a mentor,
assigned by the local school/institution, and a teacher educator from
CSU. CTE
