Seminar: The ’88 fires: Yellowstone and Beyond

Fall term 2008, Monday’s, 11:00am to 1pm, Forestry conference room F212.

SAFE has organized an EY592 seminar for Fall 2008, on the topic of The ’88 Fires: Yellowstone and Beyond.  Bill Romme has graciously agreed to serve as the faculty member for the course.  The course meets once-a-week to read articles and discuss topics surrounding the Yellowstone fires of 1988, as well as watch video of presentations from the recent Yellowstone conference, which took place in Jackson, Wyoming on September 22-27, 2008

CSU Fire Lab discussion group

The CSU Fire Lab is an informal group open to anyone interested in fire (typically professors, students, USFS, USGS, CSFS, and other agency personnel).  The group meets every other Tuesday in the Forestry building conference room (F212) from noon to 1pm.  **The Fire Lab will not meet for Fall term 2008.  See you in the spring!**  In addition to guest led seminars, discussion topics range from recent journal articles to practice presentations by members for upcoming conferences or job interviews.  Contact Dr. Monique Rocca or SAFE President Carissa Aoki for more info, or join the listserve at:  http://www.acns.colostate.edu/?page=listserv, list name FIRELAB-L.
