Department Overview

The Department of Journalism and Technical Communication was established in 1968 and operates the largest undergraduate program in the College of Liberal Arts.

Our AEJMC-accredited program serves over 500 undergraduates in five concentrations: computer-mediated communication, news-editorial, public relations, specialized and technical and television news/video communication.

The department also has 45 graduate students seeking M.S. and Ph.D. degrees.

Our 18 regular faculty members are joined by working professionals with special appointments as course instructors, and we offer online mentoring.

The department is an active partner in the Information Science and Technology Center (ISTeC) at CSU. We also participate in the new Colorado School of Public Health.
