certain Telephone Instructions and Feature information.]
1) Caller
ID :
Effective
February 27, 2003, Caller
ID service
is now working in Residence Hall Rooms and Apartments!
2) (*57)
Call Trace :
For your safety,
you can dial (*57) to trace the last call to your phone. If you
receive nuisance, threatening, malicious or obscene phone calls
on your phone, follow these Call
Trace instructions.
3) Consultation
Hold:
This feature
enables you, while on an established call, to place the original
call on hold by pressing the flash
button, to dial another campus number and consult privately with
a third party without assistance from an attendant. You may then
return to the original call and disconnect the third party from
the call after pressing the flash
button twice.
4) Call Transfer:
This feature
allows you to transfer incoming calls to another campus extension
by flashing the switchhook
and dialing the extension to which you wish to transfer the call,
then hang up. Generally, calls may only be transferred to on-campus
phone numbers from student housing.
5) Caller ID
Blocking:
The Caller
ID Blocking feature prevents the display of your number. To block
identification of your number, dial the Caller ID Blocking code
(*67), plus the number you are calling (i.e., *67 plus 8-xxx-xxxx).
To activate or un-block Caller ID, dial code (*82), plus the number
you are calling.
6) Call Waiting:
Call Waiting
is an optional feature. A Call Waiting tone alerts you when a
caller dials your number while you are on the phone. To answer
the call and place the active call on hold, flash
the switchhook for less than one second. The second caller
is connected, and the first caller is placed on hold. To return
to the first caller, flash
the switchhook for less than one second.
7) Cancel Call
Waiting:
Call Waiting
is an optional feature. A Call Waiting tone is generated when
a call is attempting to connect but cannot because the extension
is busy. To disable this tone, dial the Cancel Call Waiting code
(*70), plus the number you are calling.
8) Call Park:
The Call Park
feature allows the "parking" or holding of a call against an extension
number by entering the Call Park activation code (#92). The parked
call may be retrieved from any station by dialing the retrieval
code (#93) and the number of the five digit extension against
which the call was parked. To park a call to a specific extension,
use the Directed Call Park Activation code (#91) followed by the
five digit number of the extension to which you want the call
to be parked. Retrieve the call by dialing the retrieval code
(#93) and the specific five digit extension.
9) Call Hold:
This feature
enables the placement of an active call on hold in order to activate
another feature, such as placing a call or answering another station's
call. To activate this feature, dial the activation code (*52).
10) Ring Again:
When encountering
a busy extension, you can be notified when the extension becomes
idle. Your phone rings in a distinctive style, and the call is
placed automatically when you lift the receiver. To activate Ring
Again, while listening to the busy signal, flash
the switchhook and dial code (#66).
11) Last
Number Redial:
To quickly
redial the last number called, press ##.
