Denver Recycles Repeats an Old Christmas Favorite...Treecycle Denver Recycles' annual Treecycle 2008 program will recycle thousands of Christmas trees into mulch again this holiday season. Treecycle helps Denver avoid using landfill space and paying disposal fees for a valuable, recyclable resource -- Christmas trees.All Denver residents whose trash is collected by Denver Public Works/Solid Waste Management may participate. This year, Christmas trees will be collected during a two-week period between December 31 and January 11. Your tree collection depends on how your trash is collected. To Treecycle, simply remove all decorations, tinsel, nails, stands and bags from your tree and set it out for collection as follows. Sorry, flocked or artificial trees cannot be recycled.

Denver Recycles grinds the Christmas trees into valuable mulch, which is made available FREE to Denver residents in the spring. Last years Treecycle recycled more than 22,000 trees, which were reclaimed by Denver residents at last springs Treecycle Mulch Giveaway and Leafdrop Compost Sale. Residents may call 720-865-6810 after April 1, 2008 for more information about the 2007 Treecycle Mulch Giveaway and Leafdrop Compost Sale.
