Separator  Since 1993, more than 37 graduate students from the English, Journalism and Technical Communication, Speech, Food Science and Human Nutrition departments have been funded by center projects.

They have assisted with evaluation research and research projects and have gained diverse experience including: 

  • Reviewing literature 
  • Conducting experiments 
  • Conducting surveys 
  • Moderating focus groups
  •  

  • Moderating nominal group sessions 
  • Evaluating multimedia and WWW sites 
  • Running usability testing 
Students work as graduate research assistants or hourly employees depending on the available funding, and assistantships cover in-state tuition. 

Most graduates have gone on to take positions as technical communicators, freelance writers, marketing directors, newspaper reporters, or instructors, and a few pursue doctorate degrees.
