| Brief Job Description | The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is the largest component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NCI coordinates the National Cancer Program, which conducts and supports research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer, rehabilitation from cancer, and the continuing care of cancer patients and the families of cancer patients. The HCIP was established in 1975 to attract individuals interested in careers in health communications and science writing. The program is open to individuals who are US citizens and who are graduate students or recent graduates of an accredited master's or doctoral degree program. Recent graduates must have received their degree no more than one year prior to application. |
