uwemp is an online media company seeking field reporters to join our team for a six month commitment. Our interns will be responsible for conducting in-person and over the phone interviews and submitting well-written, engaging and creative articles to uwemp.com. Students have the choice to interview and write across a variety of topics or focus within a specific field of interest.

This position is for candidates that are independent and confident with working remotely. Our editing team will provide consistent feedback by conducting bi-weekly reviews of each student’s work.

The intern’s responsibilities include researching and identifying potential interviewees, conducting interviews and submitting 600-700 word articles to uwemp editors.

There are opportunities beyond the six-month internship for full or part-time employment.

The Journalism/Field Reporting Internship is a way for our interns to build a diverse writing portfolio and develop a loyal reader base through our platform that utilizes RSS feeds, weekly newsletters and other forms of digital distribution.
