Description: Any qualified intern who has a passion for journalism, loves to write and wants to succeed. Interns will write in-depth features about Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City, cover breaking news on occassion, shoot their own photos, and if needed, learn to design and layout the publication. Some writing experience is preferred but we will guide and train that special applicant to help them succeed. We are open to new ideas and new stories. Creative, self-started minds are encouraged to apply.
Other Information: As a weekly, our deadlines are more relaxed so an intern has more of a chance to soak in the news and focus on their story or photo. Because of our small circulation (1,000), the intern will only be able to earn bylines, not income. Luckily, we are very flexible with the schedule.
