3. NEW!!! “Graduate Student Exchange at the Universidade da Coruña, Spain” for 2010-11.

Starting next Academic year, 2010-2011, the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures will begin an exchange of Graduate students with Universidade da Coruña, Spain. First year Graduate students interested in the program  will submit a research proposal. The Graduate Studies Committee will choose the best candidate. Information concerning deadlines and format will be posted soon. The student selected will reside for a whole academic year in A Coruña and teach English courses, depending on the needs of the Department of English (Departamento de Filoloxía Inglesa), while completing his/her research project. 4. University-wide GTA Orientation - Thursday August 13th - Clark A101. Registration begins at 7:50 a.m. Orientation goes from 8-5. GTAs can register themselves, on the TILT Web site at http://tilt.colostate.edu/grad/orientation . If you have any questions, please contact Shirley Guitron, the administrative assistant for the Institute for Learning and Teaching, at 491-3132 or shirley.guitron@colostate.edu .

5. The Department of FLL will hold its own orientation for its GTAs on August 17-21. More information to follow.

6. Congratulations to two of our faculty members in Spanish. Dr. María del Mar Lopez-Cabrales was promoted to Full Professor and Dr. Jonathan Carlyon received tenure and was promoted to Associate Professor.

Wendy Rose deals with Career issues, not Foreign Language classes or questions regarding the study of these.

 

OFFICE LOCATION: Clark C211

APPOINTMENTS: Students make appointments with Wendy Rose (OR another counselor) at 970-491-5707 for advising on resumes, choosing a major, how your major relates to careers, and any career and internship counseling or questions.  Students may also meet with Susan LeBlanc if they are first and second year students in Liberal Arts, she is a generalist counselor.

LSC LOCATION (Convenient Walk-ins)  The Career Center's location in the LSC, Room 116, next to Sweet Sinsations is a prime place to send students for walkin counseling.  Counselors will be on staff there from 8:30-4:30 to see  students and provide career/resume tips and walk-in help (no appointment necessary).

For Liberal Arts specifically, Wendy Rose's WALK_INS are Fridays from8:30-12:30 for the Spring in LSC, Room 116 (next to Sweet Sinsations).
