(2002 Cranbrook Academy of Art). Professor Bates is the Metalsmithing
and Jewelry area coordinator, and teaches all levels of undergraduate
and graduate study within the concentration. Her own work explores
traditional metalsmithing techniques and functional forms by
reconstructing and reintroducing them in a contemporary art context.

| Art History; B.A. (1968 University of California, Riverside), M.A. (1971 University of California, Santa Barbara), Ph.D. (1978 University of California, Santa Barbara). Professor Coronel teaches a wide range of western and non-western undergraduate art history courses. She has taught a variety of "in situ" classes including Early Italian Renaissance art history for the department's Summer Abroad Program. Professor Dormer teaches beginning, advanced and graduate level printmaking classes, as well as beginning drawing. His prints and drawings have been shown in numerous national and international exhibitions and have been included in museum shows throughout the United States. Professor Ellerby is the undergraduate coordinator of drawing and teaches freshman through graduate level drawing. He is a working artist specializing in drawing and painting. B.A. History (James Madison University), M.F.A. Ceramics (NYSCC at Alfred University). From 2003-2007, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor in Ceramics at the School of Art & Design at Alfred University. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Pottery at Colorado State University, Fort Collins. From 1998-2000, she was a resident artist at the Archie Bray Foundation in Montana. Artist lectures include Islamic Ceramic Traditions Symposium, at the Office for the Arts at Harvard in Massachusetts, the Kansas City Art Institute, Bennington College, ASU Art Museum-Ceramic Research Center, and NCECA in Louisville, KY. In 2003, she received a New York Foundation for the Arts Grant for Craft. Recent exhibitions include: Inspired Utility: Exceptional Ceramic Vessels at the Main Line Art Center, Issues of Substance at the General Electric Company, Flower Power at the Clay Studio in Philadelphia, and the American Pottery Festival at Northern Clay Center. Other group shows include exhibitions at Greenwich House Pottery, Sante Fe Clay Studio and Lacoste Gallery. |

Professor Fahey is the area coordinator for art education and teaches all levels of undergraduate art education. His current studio work involves using hand-made paper to create low and high relief sculptures. Professor Gravdahl coordinates the graphic design program and teaches beginning and advanced level graphic design and illustration courses. He also is the chair of the department's computer committee. The creative focus of his work is in poster design and book illustration. Professor Hendry is the coordinator of pottery and teaches all levels of undergraduate pottery. He is an active potter who has exhibited throughout the United States. Professor Huibregtse is the photography area coordinator and teaches beginning through advanced levels in photo image making. His work is exhibited regionally and nationally and is included in several public and private collections. Professor Jacobs teaches foundations sculpture and Native American art and material culture. His primary studio interest is in sculpture. He has had over 65 one-artist exhibitions of his work in 14 states. Dr. Jacobs has had a lifelong interest in the art and culture of Native Americans and lectures widely on that subject. Professor Lehene teaches all levels of drawing courses and works with graduate students in the Department of Art. His creative work has been shown in Romania, Hungary and the U.S. and is part of public and private collections in this country and Europe. Professor Moseman is the coordinator for art history foundations and teaches world survey as well as courses on modern art. She has also taught courses on feminism in art history, classicism, and landscape art. An active artist who worked with Herbert Bayer at Aspen, Colorado, Professor Risbeck teaches in the graphic design concentration. Especially active in poster art, he is co-founder and co-director of the Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition. He has won medal awards in competition, and has had one-artist shows in Moscow, Paris, Riga, Porto, Warsaw, Cerveira and Havana. After four years of study at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Professor Twarogowski received his terminal studio degree from the University of Kansas. He teaches undergraduate and graduate drawing classes and is the advisor for junior level art majors. He is coordinator of the M.F.A. program in drawing. His primary studio involvement is drawing.
