Title: Electronic Resources Specialist

Requirements: This full-time Administrative Professional position at Colorado State University Libraries holds responsibilities for serials acquisitions and management, focusing on electronic resources, but including print and other formats. The position resides in the Acquisitions and Metadata Services Department and will report to the Electronic Resources Management Librarian. Established in 2012 through a reorganization, staff in this department collaborate with other library staff and the publishing community to support the collections life-cycle, including budget management; acquisitions; licensing; e-resource management (ERM); policy development; and statistical and qualitative reporting. The department also creates, transforms, and manages MARC and other data to facilitate discovery and retrieval of high-value library resources.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the ordering, receipt, invoicing, and access to electronic and print serials;
• Manage three state classified library technicians responsible for the day-to-day processing of electronic and print serials;
• Create and manage order and vendor records in both the III system and Kuali;
• Manage the ExLibris SFX Open URL system;
• Collaborate with the ERM Librarian, the Coordinator for Acquisitions and Metadata Services, the Coordinator for Collections, and the College Liaisons on budget management;
• Monitor changes or developments in the library’s systems technology and provide instruction for staff on systems and workflows;
• Prepare reports on electronic resources and serials as assigned;
• Assist in compiling statistics to agencies external to the Libraries;
• Assist with resolving electronic resource issues via the established tiered ticket system;
• Document best practices and local procedures, and revise procedures for the Serials Unit of Acquisitions and Metadata Services;
• Perform other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree;
• Two years of experience with library materials acquisitions and management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with ordering, invoicing, and managing serials;
• Experience with supervising staff;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Excellent face-to-face, phone and email interaction skills with vendors and customers;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment;
• Ability to adapt to changing expectations and standards;
• Evidence of strong problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting e-resource access problems;
• Knowledge of electronic resource management utilities, such as OpenURL, proxy servers, and electronic resource management systems;
• Experience with ILS serials and acquisitions modules;
• Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, and Excel;
• Experience using tiered ticket system software.

RANK, SALARY AND BENEFITS:
This is a full-time Administrative Professional position. Yearly salary range is $39,000 to $42,000.
