Requirements: The Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences at Colorado State University is soliciting applications for a post-doctoral fellow in the field of air pollution epidemiology. This position will support an interdisciplinary project funded by NIH investigating commuter’s exposures and the health effects of traffic-related air pollution. Research will occur under direct supervision of Professor Jennifer Peel and close collaboration with Professors John Volckens (Colorado State University) and Amy Stuart (University of South Florida). The fellow’s research will involve subject recruitment, data collection, data analysis and interpretation, and results dissemination for an ongoing study examining acute, subclinical cardiovascular and respiratory health effects of commuting routes, modes (car, bike), and traffic-related exposures.
The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in epidemiology or closely-related field with experience in air pollution and human health research. Preference will be given to candidates that have strong data management and analysis skills (including experience with primary data collection, panel studies, and repeated measures designs), experience conducting personal air pollution measurements, experience in GIS, experience conducting subclinical health measurements (including blood pressure, blood draws, pulse wave analysis, exhaled nitric oxide), demonstrated communication skills (written and oral), organizational and time management skills, leadership experience, and the ability to work independently and within collaborative teams.
The position is full-time with a multi-year duration, contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued funding.
