The College of Engineering at Colorado State University (CSU) is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Human Resources Manager, a full-time position providing vision and leadership for the college. The manager serves as a strategic advisor to the college leadership for both human resources and equal opportunity and has a direct impact on the college’s ability to recruit, retain and promote the excellent faculty and staff who contribute to our dynamic and diverse workforce. This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Administration, but directly to the Dean in the areas of faculty promotion, tenure and equal opportunity. The Human Resources Manager works closely with the CSU office of Human Resource Services and the Office of Equal Opportunity to coordinate the activities of the college with the university and to ensure compliance with and adherence to broader university initiatives and policies.
Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree. • A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, labor relations, and/or equal opportunity administration in higher education, government and/or private industry. • Demonstrated knowledge of employment regulations and management practices. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Human Resource Management, Labor Relations or similar field. Advanced degree(s) in same area(s) is desirable. • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, labor relations, and/or equal opportunity administration in higher education, government and/or private industry. • Demonstrated knowledge of Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Federal and State law. • Experience with a variety of different employee classifications (i.e., “at will” employees, State Classified employees, tenured employees). • Experience with an institution of higher education in the area of Human Resource management. • Experience working with university policies and procedures. • Demonstrated commitment to and support of a diverse employment environment. • Demonstrated success in organizational change management. • Professional HR certification(s).
