Requirements: Colorado State University, Department of Clinical Sciences is seeking applicants for a tenure track faculty position at the assistant professor level in Veterinary Ophthalmology. A DVM or equivalent degree and diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO) or completion of an approved ACVO residency training program is required, with board certification preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced degree and/or postdoctoral research experience. Expertise in clinical service and instruction of veterinary students and residents and demonstrated ability to work with others in a team atmosphere is required. The successful candidate will participate in the clinical and didactic instructional activities of the professional veterinary medicine and post-graduate training programs related to ophthalmology. Clinical service responsibilities will be shared with one other faculty member in ophthalmology. This involves coordination of the ophthalmology service, providing clinical care of patients, teaching veterinary medical students, training ophthalmology residents, providing nighttime and weekend back-up for ophthalmology residents and consultation with private practitioners and pet owners. Clinical service, teaching, and scholarly collaboration and consultation with the all other clinical service faculty are encouraged. Additional didactic lecture and laboratory teaching will be identified based on the individual’s areas of expertise and interest. The candidate is expected to develop funded independent and/or collaborative research activities that will contribute toward scholarly development and productivity in disciplines related to veterinary ophthalmology.

The University Honors Program offers its instructors a wonderful opportunity to teach an interdisciplinary Honors seminar on a topic of their choice. Teaching an Honors seminar can be a most rewarding experience because of the excellent students, small classes, and interdisciplinary seminar format. Honors students have impressive records of academic achievement and are intellectually curious and highly motivated. The Honors seminar sections range between 19 and 22 students and the small class size creates an optimal learning environment for students and faculty alike.

Each Honors seminar integrates several All-University Core Curriculum requirements such as Written Communication, Historical Perspectives, Arts/Humanities, Social/Behavioral Sciences, and Global and Cultural Awareness. Requirements: The Department of Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences at Colorado State University is soliciting applications for a post-doctoral fellow in the field of air pollution epidemiology. This position will support an interdisciplinary project funded by NIH investigating commuter’s exposures and the health effects of traffic-related air pollution. Research will occur under direct supervision of Professor Jennifer Peel and close collaboration with Professors John Volckens (Colorado State University) and Amy Stuart (University of South Florida). The fellow’s research will involve subject recruitment, data collection, data analysis and interpretation, and results dissemination for an ongoing study examining acute, subclinical cardiovascular and respiratory health effects of commuting routes, modes (car, bike), and traffic-related exposures.
The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in epidemiology or closely-related field with experience in air pollution and human health research. Preference will be given to candidates that have strong data management and analysis skills (including experience with primary data collection, panel studies, and repeated measures designs), experience conducting personal air pollution measurements, experience in GIS, experience conducting subclinical health measurements (including blood pressure, blood draws, pulse wave analysis, exhaled nitric oxide), demonstrated communication skills (written and oral), organizational and time management skills, leadership experience, and the ability to work independently and within collaborative teams.
The position is full-time with a multi-year duration, contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued funding.
