Requirements: The Orthopaedic Research Center at Colorado State University is seeking applications to fill a Research Associate II, full time administrative professional position. A minimum of 3 years laboratory experience and a BS degree applicable to the biological or biochemical sciences is required.

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, team oriented individual who is willing to accept and participate in the day to day operations of the research lab. The person must be willing to complete general laboratory duties including, but not limited to the basic organization/cleaning/maintaining of space, equipment management, and training students. The position requires a person who can multi-task, learn new techniques regularly, work on multiple projects simultaneously, work with staff across a variety of disciplines/specialties, and be semi-independent yet know when to seek assistance. In addition, the ability and willingness to work in a clinical setting and in the arena of live animal studies is essential. The individual must be capable of conducting specialized biochemical and molecular biology based laboratory experiments, histology techniques, and immunohistochemistry. Experience performing basic molecular and biochemical assays, such as basic PCR, real time quantitative PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, cell culture (mammalian, stem cell and tissue explants), ELISA assays and protein gel electrophoresis/western blot analysis is necessary. Previous experience with light/fluorescence microscopy, basic histology, immunohistochemistry and live animal studies are all a plus. Strong verbal communication skills and laboratory record keeping are essential. Written communication skills that support the writing and editing of scientific documents, such as but not inclusive to the ability to write progress reports, present data in table or graphical formats, and write comprehensive material and methods are essential. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The position of Staff Psychiatrist serves at the CSU Health Network and reports to the Director of Psychiatry. The main function of the position is to care for patients with acute and chronic psychiatric conditions including substance use problems. The position collaborates with others within and outside of the CSU Health Network to ensure that patients receive optimal care.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides outpatient adult and adolescent psychiatric evaluations, medication management and brief psychotherapy. Responsible for psychiatric patient assessments, analyzing patient conditions, ordering medical testing and providing interpretation of same, documenting findings and initiating patient care plans
• Responsible for assessing progress of patients and modifying treatment accordingly
• Completes electronic medical record documentation on time
• Evaluates and institutes emergency hospitalization procedures of patients in crisis for their safely and stabilization
• Refers patients to community psychiatric practitioners or clinics as necessary
• Serves as physician mentor for one or more psychiatric nurse practitioners at CSU Health Network
• Works with psychiatric nurses for care coordination, medication refills and/or drug assistance program
• Consults with and advises the Counseling Services and medical care providers at the CSU Health Network regarding patients with special problems in accordance with established guidelines
• Collaborates with other CSU entities that impact student care as well as other community healthcare professionals
• Participates in required meetings and educational activities. Active involvement in presenting relevant topics is encouraged. Participates on appropriate CSU Health Network and University committees.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:
• Eligibility to obtain or a possession of a current Colorado physician license
• Board certification or board eligible in psychiatry
• A current DEA number
• Demonstrated experience with electronic medical records and computer use

Preferred:
• At least one year of clinical experience is highly desirable
• Experience working as a psychiatrist with a college age population is highly desirable
• Personal and professional commitment to diversity as demonstrated by involvement in teaching, research, creative activity, service to the profession and/or diversity/inclusion activities
• Experience to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery setting that includes primary health care providers and counselors

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent clinical skills in psychiatry, including management of acute and chronic patients with a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses.
• Knowledge of principles and methods of health care for the college age population including diagnosis and treatment of mental/emotional disturbances, modern methods and principles of psychiatry, general medicine and neurology, and skill in their application
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including compassionate delivery of care
• Interest in the wellness of students and their family members and respect for the role of patients in the decision-making process
• Ability to develop and maintain good rapport with patients and staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with policies of the CSU Health Network, Colorado State University, state, federal and HIPAA requirements

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. This is a university benefits eligible position.

Requirements: Position Summary:
The Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) at Colorado State University (CSU) seeks to fill a flexible after hours position for the Anesthesia service. The individual in this position will be dedicated to providing after hours/ weekend anesthesia coverage. The primary responsibility is to cover anesthesia for emergency procedures in all species presented to Colorado State University, Veterinary Medical Center. Yearly coverage for afterhours/on call anesthesia will be shared by this posted position, current on call employee and the anesthesia resident. With majority of yearly responsibility and weekly/weekend hours will be shared between this position and our current on-call employee. Holiday coverage will be expected and equally divided between all on-call individuals. This individual will also be responsible for covering any swing shift hours (starting at 4:30 pm weekdays) during their scheduled night of on-call. The ability of the applicant to vary their schedule is essential to their success in this position.

Responsibilities/Duties:
• Physical presence may be required and/or on call beginning at 4:30 pm on weeknights to oversee cases/recovery of patients transitioned from anesthesia swing shift.
o Providing and supervising students in administering appropriate support and monitoring of patients who are still anesthetized at 4:30 pm in both large and small animal anesthesia areas.
o Transitioning and supervising students in transitioning the care of these patients to the appropriate services or the Critical Care Unit.
o Guiding students and clinicians in the selection of appropriate post-operative analgesic drugs or techniques.
• Emergency Coverage
o Be available (by PTT or cellular telephone) and within 20 minutes of the hospital at all times when on duty to provide emergency anesthesia coverage
o Perform and assist the student in performing a thorough and expedient patient evaluation including obtaining the patient history, performing a physical examination, and assessing laboratory finding.
o Select and guide the student in selecting an appropriate anesthetic and analgesic protocol.
o Select and guide the student in selecting appropriate monitoring equipment for the patient.
o Select and guide the student in selecting an appropriate supportive care plan for patient care.
o Be able to provide and guide the student in providing appropriate technical support to meet the objectives stated in above bullets
• Equipment Maintenance and Set-up
o Ensuring the equipment and area is appropriately cleaned and secured at the conclusion of the final case
o Providing a set up for additional coverage
• Schedule;
o 4:30pm – 7am : Monday through Friday

Education/ Work Experience:
Minimum qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree and two years of primary anesthesia experience. A doctor of veterinary medicine is preferred. Reporting Relationship:

This position is responsible for handling all types of transfer evaluation. Evaluation of post-secondary credentials requires both a subjective and objective review. This includes being creative and comparing concepts and framework. In addition, the position will be one of three primary staff handling undergraduate International transfer evaluation. This type of evaluation requires a detail oriented individual that can handle specialty analysis and evaluation for both the course content and the grading and credit practices of the foreign institution. Decisions must be made that are the best approach in each and every evaluation as every institution and country is different. This position must apply theories and principles to all areas pertaining to transfer evaluation processes to decide on the best approach for the circumstances.

This position also has the program responsibility to serve as a primary liaison to a specific specialty group/process (the Athletic Department pertaining to tentative transfer evaluations for student-athletes; Track III participants; CE/RI students needing to admit as degree seeking to graduate; University Honors and Discipline Honors processing; the Transfer Student Center and the Division of Continuing Education, etc…) regarding evaluation and degree completion requirements. As a professional employee, it is expected that the staff member will attend professional development workshops and/or professional organization conferences and handle additional duties as assigned.

Requirements: The Department of Soil and Crop Sciences (SCS) at Colorado State University is recruiting for a tenure-track assistant/associate professor in the field of agricultural systems science. We seek a biophysically-oriented scientist who utilizes a systems perspective to study sustainable agricultural production emphasizing plant- and soil-based processes (water, nutrients, carbon, etc.). Candidates are sought that can link agricultural/cropping systems research with water quality/quantity and other sustainability issues in a water-limited region. SCS is a diverse department with strong Soil and Crop science contingents that directs itself towards multi-disciplinary approaches to environmental issues. The successful candidate will fit with SCS’s mission and will contribute to programs of the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) by conducting research and teaching that is responsive to rapidly changing social, political, and environmental contexts and oriented toward finding solutions to critical environmental problems positioned within the food/water/energy nexus. This tenure track position is a 50% research, 40% teaching, and 10% outreach appointment on a 9-month contract. The successful applicant will be expected to develop a nationally recognized research program within the arena of agriculture systems dynamics/resilience with a focus on sustainable production systems when water resources are limited or variable. Research topics include, but are not limited to: analysis of management impacts on soil and nutrients, water quality and use, biogeochemical cycling and energy use efficiency and yield; landscape level dynamics of productivity, water and nutrients; and/or analysis of techniques to improve water and nutrient efficiency in cropping systems; especially in regions with limited irrigation. The successful candidate will teach an undergraduate course in some aspect of Soil-Crop Management and Sustainable Agriculture, Agricultural Biogeochemistry/Fertility, or other topics, and will contribute to the Department’s overall teaching needs at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The candidate will also interact with faculty at CSU focusing on Water Science and Climate Change.
Required Qualifications:
• Completion of PhD or equivalent degree by date of hire). Degree emphasis in a relevant field such as (but not limited to): soil and crop sciences, agronomy, environmental sciences, ecology, biogeochemistry, biosystems engineering, or sustainable agriculture.
Preferred qualifications:
• An excellent publication record
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to conduct innovative, basic and/or applied field-based studies on agricultural systems
• Effective communication skills, emphasis on presenting and disseminating research information to a broad audience
• Demonstrated successful teaching experience
