The University Honors Program offers its instructors a wonderful opportunity to teach an interdisciplinary Honors seminar on a topic of their choice. Teaching an Honors seminar can be a most rewarding experience because of the excellent students, small classes, and interdisciplinary seminar format. Honors students have impressive records of academic achievement and are intellectually curious and highly motivated. The Honors seminar sections range between 19 and 22 students and the small class size creates an optimal learning environment for students and faculty alike.

Bio/Pharmaceutical Production Specialist III: These positions require experience and skills above those of the Bio/Pharmaceutical Production Specialist I position. Moreover, these positions require escalating levels of experience in executing batch production records for the creation and/or processing of production materials or experience that closely matches. Higher education degree (two or four years) is required in microbiology/biotechnology or related field. Must have experience equivalent to 3 years (Specialist III) in a regulated manufacturing or testing facility. Should have experience working within an FDA recognized Quality System (or similar) using Quality Assurance approved batch cards, SOPs, Directive Protocols and/or the like. Employee training in GMP/GLP/GDP and/or Quality Control a highly suggested. Employee must be able to physically work in rooms that require specialized manufacturing gowning. Employee may perform other duties as required.
All of the specialist positions have the following Job Duties: •Assist in the implementation of manufacturing processes, including purification steps and sample testing methods in to production campaigns. •Perform laboratory support activities in a timely and concise way. •Ability to take instructions in the manufacturing room and be able to delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. •Perform both simple and complex laboratory procedures such as cell culture, protein purifications, DNA/RNA manipulations, immunohistochemistry, and other laboratory methods. •Support in the creation of controlled documents such as specification sheets, production records, protocols, reports, SOPs and other directive documents. •Takes responsibility for maintaining material inventories for manufacturing use. May be required to supervise others. •Supports the maintenance of the ISO status as well as the clean room status of each of the GMP room. This involves the physical cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, equipment and other surface areas in these controlled rooms. •Required to manage and record non-batch card laboratory activities daily in project-specific laboratory notebooks under GDP.

Qualifications: The Department of Health and Exercise Science seeks applications throughout the year from individuals who are interested in obtaining a temporary (i.e., time-limited) research position within the department. Summary of All Positions:
The Colorado Natural Heritage Program at Colorado State University seeks experienced ecology and botany field technicians for summer field work on several vegetation inventory projects. The projects are located at the Niobrara National Scenic River and Missouri National Recreation River in north central Nebraska, and The Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area in south central Montana and north central Wyoming. The work entails vegetation sampling and all positions require field botany or field ecology skills. Knowledge of plant taxonomy and species identification required. Experience identifying flora of the area is preferred. A crew lead position is available to suitably qualified candidates.
Successful applicants will work in groups of two to sample vegetation communities in support of these vegetation inventory and map accuracy assessment projects. Field technicians will be based in housing near the project site and work will entail a combination of daytrips and multi-day backpack, canoe, or car camping trips. Crews will navigate daily to randomly selected sites to establish plot locations and document plant community characteristics. Many sample locations will be in remote areas of the park.
Duties 1. Work with a partner to use GPS to navigate to plot locations and collect data on species and plant communities present. Requires the ability to reliably identify plants and plant communities of the project area, identify dominant species and community structure, and document presence of exotic or rare species, 2. Reliably locate field plots, complete field forms, operate and maintain GPS units, digital cameras, and other field equipment, and effectively manage collected data, 3. Enter and maintain data in electronic formats (databases, spreadsheets, GP GIS), 4. Thoroughly document all fieldwork using field notebooks, survey forms, maps, GPS, and digital cameras.
Qualifications: A degree in botany or ecology, natural resources, range management, forestry, or related field, or 3 years of equivalent field experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with previous field experience, and experience with the regional flora of the project area.
1. Knowledge of dichotomous botanical keys and field guides, and the major angiosperm plant families; 2. Willingness to travel extensively during field season, work unusual schedules (up to 10 consecutive days), backpack, car camp, and live for an extended period in remote areas; 3. Good physical condition to enable working long hours in the field, traveling off-trail in rough terrain, and working through inclement weather; 4. Experience with aerial photograph and topographic map interpretation; 5. Careful attention to data; 6. Comfort and familiarity with the use of computers; 7. Experience or familiarity with the use of GPS; 8. Experience collecting vegetation and environmental data in the field; 9. Experience with vegetation sampling techniques; 10. Experience with species identification, community classification, or habitat typing; 11. Experience classifying vegetation types.

Several Teaching Aide positions are available in the Professional Veterinary Medical program at Colorado State University which will support the program’s Foundations in Clinical Practices course.
A bachelor’s degree in a biomedical science area OR the substitution of an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology (or its equivalent) with five to ten years of veterinary clinical experience OR the substitution of at least ten years of veterinary technician on-the-job training in a certified clinic is required. The successful applicants must have at least one semester of experience teaching as a clinical educator in veterinary medicine and demonstrate skill in physical exam techniques regarding small animals. Veterinary technicians with at least five to ten years of experience working in high quality veterinary practices (such as AAHA certified practices) that have demonstrated ability as good communicators and clinical instructors will be given preference.
The individuals will be required to assist in the instruction and evaluation of veterinary students in the performance of physical, ophthalmologic, dermatologic, cardiologic, orthopedic and neurologic exams of small animals. They must help to evaluate these student exams in a clinical setting. They are expected to implement the guidelines set in the student task booklet and the student syllabus.
All positions are temporary and are not benefit eligible. Positions are for one semester with the potential of continuing the following semester. Hours worked are approximately 2-6 hours per week depending on the employee’s schedule as well as the need for clinical educators for the courses for that semester. The course runs approximately 8-9 weeks per semester and there is a 2-3 hour orientation at the beginning of each semester as well as a one hour introduction class period that aides are required to attend. Hours preparing outside of the class environment will be paid. Hourly wage for these positions is $15/hour and no benefits.

The QA Specialist I reviews testing, quality control, development study and other reports/data-forms for accuracy, completeness and compliance to requirements to ensure that QA standards and regulatory requirements are met and assist the organization with change control procedures and events. Reviews QA standards, studies existing policies and procedures, and interacts with personnel and clients to evaluate effectiveness of QA program and assists in writing QA policies and procedures. Participates in internal and external audits and assists departments with the coordination of audit information, and recommends appropriate improvement/mitigations. Assists with the monitoring of incidents and CAPAs; supports the mitigation, closure and archiving plans for incidents/CAPAs as well as all other documentation of the organization. Keeps the Director informed of the status of the quality system and unusual occurrences.
