Job description of the QA Specialist I position:

Under the direction of senior Quality Assurance (QA) staff members, QA Specialist I is responsible for basic QA activities to support the ongoing quality system and cGMP campaign activities. Must be able to review and audit documentation for compliance to good documentation practices and to the technical requirements of directive documents (SOPs, protocols, directive documents, etc.). The QA Specialist I reviews testing, quality control, development study and other reports/data-forms for accuracy, completeness and compliance to requirements to ensure that QA standards and regulatory requirements are met and assist the organization with change control procedures and events. Reviews QA standards, studies existing policies and procedures, and interacts with personnel and clients to evaluate effectiveness of QA program and assists in writing QA policies and procedures. Participates in internal and external audits and assists departments with the coordination of audit information, and recommends appropriate improvement/mitigations. Assists with the monitoring of incidents and CAPAs; supports the mitigation, closure and archiving plans for incidents/CAPAs as well as all other documentation of the organization. Keeps the Director informed of the status of the quality system and unusual occurrences.

Candidates should have knowledge of commonly-used QA concepts, practices, and procedures within cGMP field. Responsible for improving one’s knowledge base of current QA regulations and for informing the Director of any new and/or revised regulations; Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, but also have the ability to think critically and work independently. Summary of All Positions:

The Colorado Natural Heritage Program at Colorado State University seeks experienced ecology and botany field technicians for summer field work on several vegetation inventory projects. The projects are located at the Niobrara National Scenic River and Missouri National Recreation River in north central Nebraska, and The Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area in south central Montana and north central Wyoming. The work entails vegetation sampling and all positions require field botany or field ecology skills. Knowledge of plant taxonomy and species identification required. Experience identifying flora of the area is preferred. A crew lead position is available to suitably qualified candidates.

Successful applicants will work in groups of two to sample vegetation communities in support of these vegetation inventory and map accuracy assessment projects. Field technicians will be based in housing near the project site and work will entail a combination of daytrips and multi-day backpack, canoe, or car camping trips. Crews will navigate daily to randomly selected sites to establish plot locations and document plant community characteristics. Many sample locations will be in remote areas of the park.

Duties
1. Work with a partner to use GPS to navigate to plot locations and collect data on species and plant communities present. Requires the ability to reliably identify plants and plant communities of the project area, identify dominant species and community structure, and document presence of exotic or rare species,
2. Reliably locate field plots, complete field forms, operate and maintain GPS units, digital cameras, and other field equipment, and effectively manage collected data,
3. Enter and maintain data in electronic formats (databases, spreadsheets, GP GIS),
4. Thoroughly document all fieldwork using field notebooks, survey forms, maps, GPS, and digital cameras.

Qualifications:
A degree in botany or ecology, natural resources, range management, forestry, or related field, or 3 years of equivalent field experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates with previous field experience, and experience with the regional flora of the project area.

1. Knowledge of dichotomous botanical keys and field guides, and the major angiosperm plant families;
2. Willingness to travel extensively during field season, work unusual schedules (up to 10 consecutive days), backpack, car camp, and live for an extended period in remote areas;
3. Good physical condition to enable working long hours in the field, traveling off-trail in rough terrain, and working through inclement weather;
4. Experience with aerial photograph and topographic map interpretation;
5. Careful attention to data;
6. Comfort and familiarity with the use of computers;
7. Experience or familiarity with the use of GPS;
8. Experience collecting vegetation and environmental data in the field;
9. Experience with vegetation sampling techniques;
10. Experience with species identification, community classification, or habitat typing;
11. Experience classifying vegetation types.

Requirements: This position is responsible for application and database design, development and integration dedicated to assisting with the operation and advancement of CSU OnlinePlus goals. This position will work with staff across the organization to support business requirements, develop new applications and interfaces, enhance features and reporting capabilities, and ensure applications perform as expected. This position relies on both technical capability (analysis, development, coding, troubleshooting, and administration) as well as functional capability (definition and documentation, technical support, and training). Hands-on development, including coding, database design, and implementation of business logic is critical to the success of this position. Some after-hours and weekend work is required. This position reports to the Senior Application/Database Developer.

Application and Database Developer Responsibilities:
• Support the implementation, integration, and advancement of applications and services such as customer relationship management (CRM), Blackboard, centralized reporting, and internal information systems.
• Extensive development of reports, procedures, and queries in support of business needs and data analysis.
• Creation, enhancement, and support of reports, stored procedures, views, tables, and jobs and the applications that use them
• Development, implementation, and business process support of internal Microsoft Access database applications.
• Supporting upgrades and implementation processes for University systems, such as SunGard Banner, as used by the Division.
• Administration of SQL Server databases including but not limited to creation, maintenance, upgrade, optimization, security, integration with external applications or services, and disaster recovery planning.
• Develop and support appropriate processes to manage data integration, integrity, and performance across information systems design, monitoring, auditing, and analysis.
• Project research and problem resolution.
• Technical and non-technical support for systems and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
• B.S. degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Evidence of effective communication skills.
• Evidence of personal initiative and ability to independently pursue solutions as needs are identified.
• At least three years professional experience in the following:
• Development of advanced SQL and T-SQL statements, stored procedures, and queries to support data management, analysis, and reporting.
• Development and administration of SQL Server environment; 2005 or higher.
• Implementation of online and database-driven applications and services including experience providing business process and technical support.
• Monitor and manage user access and security to applications and data reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Report development and administration using SQL Server Reporting Services or other online reporting solution.
• Application development in Microsoft Access.
• Experience working with and/or managing a CRM application.
• Experience with Enterprise Business Intelligence solutions.
• Experience with Oracle databases.
• Experience with managing data in a Higher Education environment.
• Development in .NET technologies; specifically CLR integration with SQL Server.
