General Information
The Department of English at CSU has a tenure-track faculty of 35, approximately 450 undergraduate majors, and 100 graduate students. We appoint approximately 35 graduate teaching assistants who teach creative and expository writing and English as a second language. Undergraduate concentrations in creative writing, English education, language, literature, and writing lead to a B.A. in English. Master of Arts degrees are offered in creative nonfiction, English education, literature, rhetoric and composition, and TESL/TEFL. A Master of Fine Arts is offered in creative writing. Requirements: The Mycobacteria Research Laboratories (MRL) at Colorado State University are seeking postdoctoral fellows to conduct research on mycobacterial diseases and pathogens. Expertise in molecular biology, protein, lipid and carbohydrate biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, enzymology, metabolomics, genomics, animal models of disease, immunology and/or cell biology is desirable. Successful applicants must be able to conduct independent and collaborative research, develop and adapt laboratory methodologies, participate in grant and scientific writing, and to assist in the supervision and training of students and research associates. Good organizational, communication (verbal & written), and computer skills are essential. Minimum requirement: Ph.D. in biological sciences or equivalent degree. The Mycobacteria Research Laboratories at Colorado State University provides an unique opportunity to conduct basic and translational scientific research on mycobacterial diseases. Currently, there are twenty laboratory groups that conduct mycobacterial research on a wide spectrum of topics including mycobacterial physiology and pathogenesis, tuberculosis vaccine and drug development, leprosy and tuberculosis diagnostics, the study of nontuberculous mycobacterial diseases and Buruli ulcer, and the epidemiology and diagnostics of mycobacterial diseases affecting animals including bovine tuberculosis and Johne’s disease.

Our goal is to provide an interactive scientific environment for collaborative research on mycobacterial diseases and to facilitate advanced training of junior scientists and students.

Requirements: The Department of Marketing in the College of Business at Colorado State University invites applications for a nine-month special appointment faculty position (non-tenured, with benefits). Requirements: The Department of English hires Instructors in Composition Administration from an applicant pool. Such instructors are hired full time for fall and spring terms in a given academic year. Positions are available in 2014-15 for Instructors in First-Year Composition Administration and Upper-Division Composition Administration.

Instructors in First-Year Composition Administration receive one course release per semester to train and supervise GTAs in CO150 College Composition and collaborate on updating the common CO150 syllabus and course materials. They teach six courses per year in addition, which usually include 100- and 300-level composition. The availability of other courses is based on department need and the instructor’s background.

Instructors in Upper-Division Composition Administration receive one course release per year for administrative and curricular work, including developing professional development workshops and materials. They teach seven courses per year, consisting of 300-level composition courses.

Instructors are expected to meet departmental objectives for the courses they teach.
Requirements for both positions are an MA; a record of college teaching excellence; initiative for composition program development; supervisory experience, preferably in composition program administration; experience developing programmatic and instructional materials; and knowledge of multimodal composition theory and practice. Teaching experience in upper-division composition is required for positions in Upper-Division Composition Program Administration. A PhD, MFA, or ABD is preferred. For positions in First-Year Composition Administration, preference will be given to candidates with academic or scholarly credentials in composition theory and pedagogy or rhetoric and those with recent teaching experience in CSU’s composition program or one similar to it.

Terms of Employment: These distinctive assignments are customarily for three-year terms. Annual reappointment depends on satisfactory performance.
