POSITION: The Library anticipates the need for part-time research associates pending project funding.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Depending on the project, responsibilities may include: administering projects; reviewing literature; identifying funding sources; entering data into an electronic bibliographic database; recruiting test subjects; conducting in-depth interviews; conducting usability tests; observing test subjects; keeping research records; interviewing; conducting surveys, focus groups and nominal group techniques; writing; developing proposals; editing and producing reports, articles, publications, online documentation, and presentations.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Qualitative and quantitative communication research methodologies and strong writing and editing skills required. Requirements may vary with projects. Required: All course work completed for an MS or Ph.D. in communication or a field that includes course work and/or experience in quantitative and/or qualitative social science research methodologies and evaluation research methods. Preferred: Familiarity with word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, presentation software, drawing/graphics, multimedia, HTML, WWW, and statistical analysis software preferred
RANK AND SALARY: Administrative Professional position. Salary based on experience and project funding. The salary will be prorated based on the project duration and responsibilities. Selection of candidates will be made as needed. Insurance benefits are available for appointments of half-time or greater, and faculty and administrative professionals may select from several options for medical, dental, life, and personal disability insurance, as well as retirement plans. Full-time faculty and administrative professionals earn 24 days of vacation and 15 days of sick leave annually. Optional deferred compensation.
