Position Overview The Director, Alumni Relations works collaboratively with the alumni relations staff, University colleagues, and alumni to build a comprehensive engagement strategy to enhance ties between the University and approximately 50,000 alumni in the metro Denver area. This position is based out of the Alumni Association office in downtown Denver, Colorado, and requires frequent travel throughout the metro Denver area and to the CSU campus in Fort Collins. This is a 12-month, full time appointment.
Responsibilities • Develop and manage programs, services, and communications to meet the Alumni Association’s alumni engagement goals for the metro Denver area. Collaborate with staff and partners to achieve these goals. • Establish a metric-driven strategy for alumni engagement that utilizes data to measure effectiveness and increase alumni engagement. Target specific populations and explore programs to meet varied alumni needs as part of the program development process. • Provide guidance and support to the various alumni volunteer organizations in Denver. • Work with campus partners and other constituents to identify and develop volunteer opportunities for alumni to connect back to the institution with the goal of strengthening a connection to the Alumni Association and Colorado State University. • Conduct one-on-one and group meetings with alumni for the purpose of providing University updates, exploring volunteer interests, and promoting Alumni Association membership and related programs. • Seek partnerships with metro Denver businesses and actively participate in metro Denver organizations to foster alumni engagement. • Represents Colorado State University and the Alumni Association at programs and events as needed. This will require working nights and weekends. • Demonstrated knowledge of and relevant ability with, culturally diverse communities among potential target and constituent populations. • Current valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications • Bachelors degree • Minimum of five (5) years professional work experience in higher education; corporate organizations; professional, business or trade associations; and/or non-profit organizations • Experience engaging constituents in the Denver market, or similar metropolitan area • Excellent communication skills
