Title: Assistant Director for Alumni and Athletics Events

Salary: Salary range is $47,000-$52,000, commensurate with experience.
Requirements: CSU Events & Constituent Engagement advances the relationships, brand messages, and fundraising goals of Colorado State University through the production of impeccable experiences designed to tell the University’s story. The Assistant Director for Alumni & Athletics Events serves as the department’s primary liaison to the CSU Athletics Department and the CSU Alumni Association, with overall responsibility for the two areas’ event portfolios. Collaborative in nature, the position requires flexibility, creativity, attention to detail, and adherence to the highest standards of service excellence. This position will require working nights and weekends on a regular basis in addition to event-related travel. The Assistant Director is a regular 12-month appointment, and the full-time, benefited position reports to the Executive Director of CSU Events & Constituent Engagement.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Five (5) years’ professional experience in event management
• Experience supervising and/or managing the work of others in the production of professional events

Preferred Qualifications
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and quality in work produced
• Demonstrated experience in successfully developing and managing event/project budgets
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and to thrive in a creative, fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work to maximize productivity, and respond effectively to change
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and an ability to manage stressful work situations
• Experience managing client-driven events
• Experience working with volunteers in support of event planning and execution
• Experience with fundraising events
• Knowledge of Colorado State University and its donor/alumni constituencies
• Experience working in higher education
