Roles and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the State Forester, the Supervisor of the Forest Management Division is responsible for providing supervision and budget administration for all statewide forest management programs. The Supervisor and his/her staff have the opportunity to achieve a diverse array of forest management objectives that benefit both the citizens and forests across Colorado. The Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) is the lead state forestry agency in Colorado. The Supervisor of the Forest Management Division is responsible for budget management, and for providing overall supervision and leadership of staff who manage multiple ongoing program. The Supervisor of the Forest Management Division is expected to be knowledgeable about general program areas, and must have strong leadership skills to achieve success through others. The Supervisor may serve as the CSFS representative and/or technical expert at state, regional, and national levels to enhance and develop partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A degree from a Society of American Foresters (SAF)-accredited program or any bachelor’s degree in forestry or another natural resource program will be considered.
• A minimum of six years of experience in forestry/forest management, with a demonstrated progression in increasing scope of staff and program management.
• A minimum of four years’ experience with supervision, performance management, and professional development of staff.
• Successful applicants must have a valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to acquire one upon employment.
