Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree, business administration, or related discipline. • 4 years experience in finance, personnel, budget, and business activities in a large organization. • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Preferred Qualifications: • Two or more years of experience in higher education. • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills and supervisory experience. • Knowledge and experience with database management software, Kuali Financial Systems and Ethority information management system. • Master’s degree. • Experience in financial modeling for impacts of policy changes, grant proposal preparation, post-award management and presenting information clearly and effectively.
Position Responsibilities: • Provide leadership for business related services of the College including working with the College Dean on budget development and allocation. Responsible for auditing of fiscal resources and management of the fiscal activities of the College. Assist with summer budgeting process. • Prepare, analyze, and provide recommendations for annual budget development cycle for all fund types incorporating historical data, current activities and anticipated activities to forecast budgets for fiscal year. Develop plans based on forecast to meet objectives of the College and assist the College Dean to make budget allocations. Analyze and manage budget revisions. Research, analyze and investigate variances and problems. • Manage finances and personnel in accordance with College priorities and policies including but not limited to: fringe benefit pool, course fee reports, compliance issues, payroll, purchasing, grant administration, Facilities and Administration cost distributions, foundation accounts, On-Line Plus, travel funds and other funds as needed. Perform budget input on Kuali System and manage merit salary increase processes. • Apply in-depth knowledge of principles, rules, regulations, policies, precedents, other guidelines and objectives in communicating with Dean, University, Departments and College personnel. • Create executive-level management accounting reports from university accounting reporting system and human resources payroll reports. • Work with College Dean on strategic initiatives and planning. Review and approve all expenditures and reconcilements for the Dean’s Office. Act as Data Steward for the College. • Serve as the College liaison for Human Resources, Financial Systems, Auditors, Purchasing, Sponsored Programs, and Worker’s Compensation. • Monitor College compliance with related policies and procedures and evaluate/establish internal control policies as needed and review College and Department balances. • Represent the College at CAAG and other University meetings; Serve on College Charges for Technology committee; with IT Director, reviews all CFT requests for compliance with University policy. • Distribute, collect and prepare section reports and College request for Course Capacity funding. • Distribute awards, allocations, budget adjustments to departments.
