The Department of Communication Studies hires Special Assistant Professors/Special Instructors from an applicant pool. Such Special Assistant Professor/Special Instructors may be hired for fall, spring, and/or summer term in a given academic year. They are hired to teach courses in communication studies in Evaluating Contemporary Television, Critical Media Studies, and Evaluating Contemporary Film. Requirements for this position are a Ph.D. in Communication Studies for Special Assistant Professor rank or M.A. in Communication Studies for Special Instructor rank (ABD preferred), experience teaching the specific subject area, and teaching excellence.
Application Deadline: To be considered for the Fall 2013 semester, applications are due May 15, 2013. For the Spring 2014 semester, applications are due November 1, 2013. Applications received after these dates will be considered if additional classes become available.
