Position: The Department of Art at Colorado State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Printmaking. This is an entry-level tenure-track position, beginning August 16, 2014. The successful candidate will be appointed untenured and at the rank of Assistant Professor
Qualifications: M.F.A. degree (60 credits) in Printmaking required. An active creative exhibitions record is required. The applicant is required to have advanced working knowledge of intaglio, relief and lithographic processes. Ability to teach undergraduate Printmaking and Drawing, and graduate-level Printmaking, is required. Teaching experience at the college level is highly preferred. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach courses at all levels of undergraduate and graduate Printmaking. The various courses taught will provide instruction in traditional and experimental intaglio processes, including burin engraving, collagraphs, single plate viscosity color printing and multiple plate color printing. Traditional and experimental approaches to stone and aluminum plate lithography as well as positive plate photolitho processes and multiple plate color printing for all litho images will also be taught. Traditional and experimental approaches to wood and linoleum relief printing, including reductive color, multiple block color and black and white imagery will also be taught. This person would be responsible for providing leadership in the management and maintenance of the Printmaking studio. Faculty expectations include engagement in professional and exhibition activity at the local, regional and national levels as well as curriculum development in Printmaking, and service on department, college and university committees.
