Special Instructors are hired to teach courses in areas such as current world problems, American government and politics, political theory, international relations, and/or comparative politics. Requirements for this position are a master's degree in an appropriate field or equivalent. Ph.D. or ABD preferred. Preference is given to individuals who are current graduate students in the CSU Political Science Department, who have passed the comprehensive examinations, who have taken the relevant field courses, and who have a record of excellence in teaching.
