The Sociology Department hires temporary, part-time instructors, from an applicant pool for fall, spring, and/or summer terms to teach courses such as criminology, ethnicity, theory and research methods. Requirements are a masterís degree in Sociology or related field. A Ph.D. is preferred. For criminology courses, experience may substitute for the masterís degree.

Applicants are added to the pool list throughout the calendar year. Hiring decisions are made during the late spring and early summer for fall semester, during the fall semester for spring and during the spring semester for the summer term.
