Job Description The College of Engineering Facilities Coordinator oversees and manages the physical facilities of the college, both to support existing programs and prepare for future growth. In addition to the general responsibilities listed below, the Facilities Coordinator works with the Assistant Dean to implement the college strategic plan for facilities.
General responsibilities include: • Maintain a web-based college space database that both reads from and updates the university space and that is accessible to constituents of the college, including a robust search mechanism • Oversee updates and changes to the above database • Serve as the liaison between the College and CSU Facilities Management, streamlining communications and decision making, reviewing estimates, coordinating schedules, and overseeing construction through to completion with positive results for our clients • Together with the Assistant Dean, implement the college space allocation and utilization policy • In conjunction with college leadership, assist in development of a college facilities master plan • Oversee the small project crew within the college • Supervise all college staff in the Facilities operation of the college
The Facilities Coordinator has broad oversight and supervisory responsibilities for all aspects of facilities, including new construction, small construction projects, and renovations. This position acts as the liaison to the CSU Facilities Management office, in particular as the liaison with the Facilities Management small construction group. This position is also the primary liaison between the College and CSU Environmental Health. As part of the facilities oversight responsibilities, the Coordinator will serve as the Building Proctor for the building in which this position’s office is located. Where applicable, the Facilities Coordinator will represent the college on university committees and working groups and will perform other duties as assigned. Applicant Requirements • A bachelor's degree. • Experience working in a construction environment. • This position will supervise other employees; 2 years supervisory experience is required. • Strong project management experience as demonstrated by previous work experience. • Successful applicants will have strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to customer service, and impressive organizational skills. • Adaptability and the ability to work well with others is critical.
Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to those who have a bachelor’s degree in a technical field, and experience working in higher education. Strong preference will be given to those individuals with programming and web programming experience, experience working in a technical environment, and construction management experience.
Appointment and Salary Twelve-month, administrative professional position, reporting to the Assistant Dean of Engineering. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, in the range of $45,000 - $55,000 annual. No relocation funding is available.
