QUALIFICATIONS: (i) Bachelorís degree; (ii) previous experience working in event operations in intercollegiate or professional athletics or related field; (iii) ability to work independently in the conduct, supervision and oversight of events; (iv) strong interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills; (v) effective oral and written communication skills; (vi) willingness and ability to work evenings, holidays and weekends; (vii) experience with athletic facility renovation, construction, maintenance and/or management helpful; (viii) knowledge of NCAA regulations preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This positionís primary area of responsibility is ensuring the successful conduct and management of competitive athletic events and related activities. Individual will be solely responsible for managing operations and staffing for assigned sports, events and/or facilities. Duties include but are not limited to: (i) ensure the competition facility, all related facilities and all relevant staff are prepared for the event; (ii) conduct pre-season game management meetings with appropriate coaches and staff; (iii) work collaboratively to coordinate scheduling of facilities and to resolve conflicts; (iv) coordinate with visiting teams, officials, security and medical staffs, marketing, ticketing, etc. to ensure events are properly managed and staffed; (v) assist with transitional facilities and operations due to renovations, construction and maintenance activities; (vi) provide support as required for other department or University events in athletic facilities; (vii) ensure compliance with departmental, University, state, federal, conference and NCAA regulations; (viii) demonstrate ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse community and advance the departmentís commitment to diversity and inclusion; and (ix) perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.
POSITION: Full-time, 12-month administrative professional position reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Event/Facility Operations; full University benefits; salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position requires evening, holiday and weekend work.
