Installing Symantec's Norton AntiVirus 7.x on Macintosh
Computers
Fall 2001
Requirements:
Macintosh Power PC or higher
Mac OS 8.0 or higher
24 MB of RAM 10 MB of hard disk space available CD ROM Internet connection
to access Live Update
Installing Norton AntiVirus requires that your Macintosh be restarted when done.
1. Remove any previous antivirus software you may have on your computer and then restart your computer.
2. Insert the CSU PPP CD into your computer's CD-ROM.
3. Open the Norton AntiVirus Folder on the CSU PPP CD.
4. Double click on the Norton AntiVirus installer icon.
5. At the first screen press Continue.
6. At the licensing page click Accept
7. At the ReadMe page click Continue
8. At the Norton AntiVirus Installer page select: Easy Install Accept the default Install Location Click on the Install button. Norton AntiVirus will install.
9. A screen will appear telling you have a one-year subscription for virus definition updates. Click OK
10. When installation has completed, click on the Restart button.
11. Connect to the Internet.
12. Under the Apple Menu in the left hand corner select Control Panels|Norton AntiVirus
13. Under the Utilities menu select LiveUpdate.
14. Click on the "Update Everything Now" button. This
will update virus definitions and download any patches for Norton AntiVirus
and
LiveUpdate.
