Grants and Contracts
CRCE received a $5,000 transfer from Gerry Bomotti, the Vice-President
for Administrative Services, in support of work for the President's
Community Relations Council. This startup money was used to develop
a time series methodology for analyzing Regional Economic Information
Services (REIS) data. Under the direction of Harvey Cutler, Stephen
Davies and Richard Eichhorn (a 1998 Ph.D. in the Economics Department),
a graduate student from each department was hired to help with the methodology.
Summer 1999.
Robert Kling participated with others in a successful bid for
a $900,000 grant from the Environmental Protection Agency. Part of Stephan's
responsibility as investigator is to examine the economic impact of
ecological changes in Rocky Mountain National Park. 1999-2002.
Robert Kling is the PI for a grant from the Economic Development
Administration and in collaboration with the Denver mayor's office.
The project, Identifying Urban Pockets of Economic Opportunity totals
$105,000. Three Economics department graduate research assistants are
currently receiving summer funding on this project. 2000 - 2001. (pdf

Robert Kling and Harvey Cutler obtained a grant from the Colorado
Department of Labor to clarify the department's Guidelines for Projecting
Employment and Occupations: $10,000. Two graduate students from the
Department of Economics were funded. Spring 2000.
Harvey Cutler and Stephen Davies obtained a $12,700 grant from
the City of Fort Collins to analyze the economic viability of the Convention
Bureau. Spring 2000.
Harvey Cutler and Stephen Davies obtained a $20,944 grant from
Colorado State University to analyze the economic impact of the university
on the Fort Collins and regional economies. Spring 2000.
