ProjectOne-stop services and resource referral are high-priority activities for the Morgan County Family Center. Even Start Family Literacy is the model of empowerment which will define the work of the Family Center as it seeks to create a community which embraces the well-being of all families. Literacy is defined as the possession of basic communication and computation skills that enable individuals to solve problems, meet their own objectives, and function effectively in our rapidly changing society. |

ProgramsGateway Village Apartments & Log Lane Village: Area youth are provided structured activities along with parental involvement for 8 weeks during the summer. Youth participate in craft activities as well as social skills needed to be successful in life. After School Homework Assistance: After school one day a week youth use computers and join various activiites with Girl Scouts and 4-H members. ScholarShop: A community based resource center for motivating and preparing youth for post-secondary education. Utilizes 7 curriculum modules: Self-discovery, Career options, Postsecondary options, College options, College admissions and financial aid, Community involvement, and Transition to college. Offered on an individual basis and will expand to group meetings. Mini-Society: An entrepreneurial program to teach youth in grades 3-6 skills in setting up a business, designing a product, selling a product. Used within the summer youth program as well as the after shcool programs at designated sites. Community PartnersMorgan County Colorado State University Extension and the Technical Advisory Committee work with Morgan County community partners.
