We Need Your Help
for the 23rd Annual CSU NASA Contest Powwow
We need lots of helping hands before the event, as well as throughout the two days. Following are some of the areas you can help in:
- Planning, organizing, making phone calls, etc. -- just come to a meeting and jump in!
- Flyer distribution/posting - locally and regionally
- Seating
- Security
- Set-up
- Admission
- Clean-up during the two days, anytime throughout the day.
- Clean-up and tear-down - Sunday evening
- Food Concession
- frybread makers and turners
- runners (replenish supplies)
- Indian Taco assembly line
- clean-up
Hours needed - will depend on what area you want to help in. We will have two- and four-hour shifts, beginning at ~ 8:00 a.m. each day. What will you gain?
- free admission to the powwow on the day you volunteer -- put in your hours, then sit and enjoy the event!
- service/learning credit for Dr. Jacobs' class (registered this semester only)
- behind-the-scenes experience
- unique experience working with your fellow Native American students
- a sense of appreciation and pride when you hear the first drumbeat of the powwow, knowing that you helped make it happen!
- free Indian Taco or frybread if you help in the food concession for four hours or more
- free t-shirt!
