I am interested in utilizing the powerful genetic and physiological tools available through the model species Arabidopsis thaliana to answer both applied and evolutionary questions in native and invasive species ecology. Specifically, my research will be directed towards understanding the role of drought, altitude and salinity (tolerance/avoidance/ escape) on speciation and the maintenance of biological diversity in stressful ecosystems.
