I believe the more a student can relate class information to world historical and/or current events, the better he or she understands, retains and applies the information. I am constantly searching for new information and anecdotes to relate class material to my students. Technical information is being produced at an ever-accelerating rate and students must be able to acquire, assimilate, and utilize it on their own. I believe this ability is especially important in remaining current and adaptable in our fast changing world. One of my main teaching goals, besides encouraging critical thinking, is to instill a love of learning. I also take pride in attempting to make students aware that classes are just the beginning and learning continues throughout life.

Courses I Teach:

Plants and Civilization (AGRI/IE 116) (Fall & Spring)
