Student Media Organizations

The Department of Journalism and Technical Communication is associated with a range of student organizations serving undergraduates across the campus. JTC majors have been an important part of leadership and participation in these media-related organizations.

CSU Student Media. Student Media supports the mission of Colorado State University by enhancing the undergraduate experience through education, training and hands-on experience in media methods, management, ethics, responsibilities and community service. KCSU radio, CTV 11 television station, The Rocky Mountain Collegian daily newspaper, and College Avenue magazine. JTC majors have long participated in leadership roles in student media productions and publications.

PRSSA: Public Relations Student Society of America. The CSU chapter of PRSSA is dedicated to serving its members by enhancing their knowledge of public relations and providing access to professional development opportunities.

SPJ: The Society of Professional Journalists. SPJ at CSU is the nation’s most broad-based journalism organization, dedicated to encouraging the free practice of journalism and stimulating high standards of ethical behavior.
