Brief Job Description:

Internship 1

The External Relations and Communications Intern will assist the Director of Communications with the production of corporate communications including:

Newsletter development

Website content development
Creation of e-mail and letter responses
Communication with various Newmont constituents
Development of marketing material

Internship 2

The Community Relations Intern will assist the Director of Community relations with the following:

Research Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) focused on environmental and social responsibility to determine their view of Newmont operations with an emphasis on NGOs located in Colorado.

Research opportunities for Newmont to become more involved in environmental and community relations activities in Denver as well as Colorado (sponsor with our name and/or employee involvement).

Complete a comprehensive Internet search for Newmont - summarizing where and how Newmont is discussed.

Create a summary report (paper) on Newmont's relationship with the Denver community and local NGOs and suggestions for how we can boost our "social license to operate" in Denver (and maybe Colorado).

More Information:

Major in journalism, commmunications, marketing, and/or public relations or business. Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Strong research and Internet skills. Functional knowledge of MS Office applications (Word/PowerPoint)
