Brief Job Description

Did you decide to become a journalist so you could make a difference in the world? Cultural Survival, an international human rights organization that promotes the rights, voices, and visions of indigenous peoples, seeks interns with journalism experience to report for its online weekly news digest (www.cs.org).

We are looking for journalists and journalism students who can write news briefs and longer features on deadline, who have experience finding and developing relationships with sources, and who enjoy interviewing people over the phone or in person.

Interns have the opportunity – in fact, we strongly encourage them – to develop relationships with sources all over the world to help us keep up on the latest indigenous human rights news. Interns are an integral part of our organization, and become involved in many aspects of our operations in our Cambridge, Massachusetts, office. This opportunity is perfect for students interested in the independent press or in journalism opportunities in the nonprofit sector.

Additional Information, Application Procedure

Please submit a couple of news writing samples, along with your cover letter and resume to the contact above.
