Enrollment Statistics Past Data on Colorado State University Enrollment 1912 - 1975 (Spreadsheets) ???? _ 1989 (Booklets)

During the early years of Colorado State University enrollment statistics were kept in bound books and "tick" marks were made in columns to count how many students were enrolled, later reports were typewritten, and finally reports were printed from unit record machines or computers. In some years the counts were for the whole academic year, some were for date ranges, and others for semesters or quarters.

The spreadsheets which have been developed for each year try to standardize information and display a Fall Term picture of the College/University. Obviously terminology, structure of the institution, and categories of counting have changed throughout this period so consistency in reporting is not possible. Our goal was to provide a reasonable snapshot of each year and our numbers may differ from those used on other publications due to our interpretation of the data.

I would like to thank students Stepanie Schumacher and Kent List for their assistance in this project. Ken Yoder from Enrollment Services has also provided a significant amount of time and technical assistance.

This is a work in progress. As time permits, addtional booklets will be scanned and made available for viewing. Only fall booklets are included.

The booklets were produced by the Admissions and Records offices using a variety of tabulating methods. Many of the early reports were hand tallies and then added with manual adding machines. Later versions were created using Lotus1-2-3 and finally from automated reporting using central data systems.
